PUDSEY Park will be more accessible to families and disabled people through a £57,000 revamp.
The northern entrance of the park will be redeveloped, with the creation of two new stone pillars and entrance gates.
Disabled people and visitors with wheelchairs will find easier access once a wider footpath is built. A stone wall will be constructed alongside the new footpath and railings will be placed around the play area.
An additional picnic table area will increase the size of the seating space by 50 per cent. Funding has come from local developer contributions and the work will begin in late April or early May.
Councillor Richard Lewis (Labour, Pudsey), said: “These improvements will breathe new life into Pudsey Park making it more accessible for disabled people and offer a great space for family picnics and other activities. Along with the excellent playground and skate park, these changes will make Pudsey Park a great place for people of all ages to enjoy.”
