A WOMAN and two young children escaped unharmed from a house fire blamed on an electrical fault in the kitchen.
Firefighters were called to the address at about 8.30am yesterday to find the woman and two children, both aged under five, already out of the house in Buttershaw Drive.
They spent about 90 minutes at the scene tackling the flames and helping to clear up.
The kitchen was destroyed by the flames and there was smoke damage elsewhere in the house.
There were no smoke alarms in the property and firefighters warn that all households should have them fitted to give an early warning if fire takes hold.
