STUDENTS at a city centre school will help make their neighbourhood a cleaner place on Thursday.
Officers in Bradford East Neighbourhood Team will be helping students at Dixons City Academy with their project work for Eco Week which will involve them carrying out a visual audit of the streets around the school.
Bradford Council warden Chris Brown and ward officer Sheila Brett will join the school council for the event, which will double as a litter pick.
They will be taking photographs to use in displays during Eco Week next month, which will encourage their fellow pupils to take a pledge not to drop litter and to keep their rubbish with them until they can get to a bin.
Councillor Andrew Thornton, executive for environment and sport, (pictured) aid: “It’s great to see young people taking such a keen interest in their local environment.”
