DAREDEVILS have been urged to take the plunge and sign up for a fundraising abseil down a Bradford building.
Volunteers are wanted to take part in a sponsored abseil to raise money for the Lord Mayor’s Appeal.
All funds raised will go the Lord Mayor of Bradford, Councillor Mike Gibbons’ chosen charities, Marie Curie Cancer Care and the Make It Happen appeal.
The event will take place at Bradford Council’s Jacob’s Well building in Nelson Street, Bradford, on Saturday, April 18, between 10am and 4pm.
Organisers hope to fill 50 slots on the day and already have Bradford East MP David Ward signed up.
Cllr Gibbons, said: “I admire anyone taking part for their bravery.
“This is a great opportunity to have a unique view of the city and raise some money for a worthwhile cause.”
Gary Peacock, general manager of The Midland Hotel, who is organising the event, will also take part.
He said: “I am delighted to be assisting this year in the organising of the abseil as well as taking part.”
Both Cllr Gibbons and Mr Peacock took a look at the site to see for themselves the test which awaits participants.
If you would like any further information on how to take part, call the Lord Mayor’s Office on 01274 434965 or email elaine.cawley@bradford.gov.uk.
