OFFICERS from Bradford East Neighbour- hood Team will be helping students at Dixons City Academy with a project encouraging teenagers not to drop litter. During the academy’s Eco Week, Bradford Council warden Chris Brown and Ward Officer Sheila Brett will be out with members of the School Council to assess and pick litter around the Ripley Street school.
Councillor Andrew Thornton (pictured), the Council’s executive member for environment, said: “It’s great to see young people taking such a keen interest in their local environment.”
On Thursday, they will be taking photographs to use in displays during Eco Week in April, which will encourage fellow pupils to take a pledge not to drop litter and to keep their rubbish with them until they can get to a bin.
