A WOMAN fought off an attacker during a "traumatic" attempted sexual assault in the early hours of yesterday.
The victim was walking on Hough Top, at its junction with Harley Gardens, Pudsey, at about 4am when she was pushed to the floor by a man.
He tried to sexually assault the woman, but she managed to fight him off and escape.
Police said the man was Asian, about 5ft 8ins to 5ft 9ins tall, aged in his late 20s, and with wavy hair. He was wearing a white polo shirt.
Detective Chief Inspector Paul Fountain, of the Homicide and Major Enquiry Team, said: "Thankfully the woman managed to escape from what must have been a very traumatic ordeal for her. I am appealing for any witnesses to the incident to come forward and tell us what happened."
Any witnesses, or anyone with any information on the incident, can ring police on 101.
