YEADON Library is to get a major revamp that will see it incorporate Rawdon’s One Stop Centre.
Leeds City Council has announced that the Town Hall Square building will close at the end of this month to allow the refurbishment to take place.
In its letter to customers confirming the plans, the Library and Information Service said: “This new facility will accommodate a One Stop Centre, library, registrar and other partners.
“We want to continue to meet the needs of our customers during this time by providing a temporary library service... in a convenient and central location. The location that met all these criteria is a room in the Methodist Church, next to the Town Hall.
“Therefore, from April 2 until June 15, we will be operating a library service from this location.
“We will ensure that a stock rotation plan is put into place during this period to give you a varied choice of books.” The town’s three ward councillors have all welcomed the news. The library will close at the end of business on Thursday, March 26.
