A LISTED mill building in the city centre could be converted into 77 flats, if planners give the go-ahead.
The former worsted mill, at 18 to 22 Canal Road, Bradford, was most recently used as offices but has stood empty for four years.
Now, developer MMR Construction (Bradford) Limited hopes to convert the mill into 52 one-bedroom flats and 25 two-bedroom flats.
In a heritage statement accompanying the application, it says it hopes to retain many of the building’s historical features.
It says: “The Grade II listed building holds many historic and character features which we plan to incorporate into the conversion.”
The same firm has also applied for change-of-use permission to turn nearby 24 Canal Road into 25 flats.
This former office building would be turned into 10 one-bedroom flats and 15 two-bedroom flats.
The firm recently completed a similar development nearby, creating 74 apartments and commercial space at 15 to 17 Canal Road.
