POLICE have located a large scale cannabis farm in a warehouse after a tip-off from the building’s owner.
It took police officers and forensic teams two days to examine and clear the professional set up in Longside Lane, Shearbridge, close to the University of Bradford.
Now officers are working closely with the landlord to track details of the last- known occupants. So far no arrests have been made.
Hydroponic equipment was being used to cultivate more than 1,000 plants in the operation, which is believed to have been going on for some time because of the stages of the plants’ growth.
Sergeant Vikki Tyrell said the plants and associated paraphernalia had now been destroyed, adding: “West Yorkshire Police is committed to reducing drug related offences and I encourage local residents to contact the police if they have any information in relation to drugs in their area.
“This is a significant recovery. Your local officers will take a robust stance against cannabis cultivation, use and dealing and we rely on the public to assist us.”
