HOTEL guests in Bradford paid the lowest average price in the country for rooms last year, according to a survey.
Visitors to the city paid around £51 for accommodation – up five per cent from the year before. That figure is less than half the national average of £104.
Only Scarborough came out with similar results, with hotel guests there paying around £61, up four per cent from the previous year.
The information comes in the latest Hotels.com index, which looks at prices paid by travellers worldwide in 2014.
Elsewhere in the region, Leeds chalked up the highest increase of eight per cent, to £79, in the wake of a lift from the Tour de France starting in the city. York’s accommodation went up to £96.
Carolina Annand, of Hotels.com, said: “Yorkshire continues to offer visitors fantastic value for money, with some of the country’s lowest rates. With attractions from ruined castles and abbeys, to museums, beautiful coastlines and sporting events such as the Tour de Yorkshire, there really is something for everyone.”
