WEST Yorkshire Police will support the International Day for the Elimination of Racial Discrimination on March 21 as part of a hate crime awareness campaign.
The force, alongside Mark Burns-Williamson, West Yorkshire’s Police and Crime Commissioner, is also supporting the national ‘We Stand Together’ campaign, a movement celebrating diversity across the UK.
Temporary Assistant Chief Constable Paul Money said: “It is vital that people have the confidence to come forward and tell us if they have either been a victim of, or witnessed, such behaviour.”
As part of the campaign, improvements have been made to the recording of faith hate crimes, to better understand the impact of national and international events on communities.
