POLICE found a motorbike within a day of it being stolen, after a public tip-off.

They were told of suspicious activity in the Thorp Edge area of Bradford and searched an address to find the motorbike hidden behind a mattress.

It had sustained only minor damage and was recovered by police to be returned to its owner in Calverley.

A spokesman for West Yorkshire Police said in a statement: “This shows that with the help of the community, we can work together and achieve results which deny criminals their intended use with stolen property.”
