PEOPLE living in the Bradford district need to get more exercise, says a new health report.
More than half of people are considered inactive, and only one in three say they exercise half an hour a week.
A report, going to the district health and wellbeing board next week, calls for a plan to get people moving.
Councillor Andrew Thornton said:Physical inactivity is a significant factor in the development of many serious conditions, such as coronary heart disease and type two diabetes There is a need for everyone to play their part and understand why physical activity is so important in our society and how we tackle the barriers that prevent people being more active.“There is a need for everyone to play their part and understand why physical activity is so important in our society and how we tackle the barriers preventing people being more active.”
