THE woman who helped bring Hostler's case to court 20 years after the first of the offences took place said "justice had been done" for everyone involved.

Hostler was given a two-year probation order after pleading guilty to indecently assaulting the woman's 11 year-old daughter in 1994.

The woman, who cannot be identified for legal reasons, said she had felt "let down by the justice system" by that verdict, and felt people needed to know about Hostler's conviction.

"I was crying and screaming that day, I ran out of court," she said.

"What happened has tortured me and my daughter all our lives, and I wanted everyone to know what he was like."

The woman said she put messages on Facebook saying Hostler was a sexual abuser of children, and as a result, was contacted by the first of the five complainants involved in yesterday's trial.

"She said we had something in common, and when I found out what, I urged her to go to the police," she said.

"I reassured her they would listen."

After attending court to hear yesterday's verdict, the woman said she was happy justice had now been served.

"It's just a relief, and feels like justice has been done for everybody," she said.

"It is a heavy weight that has been lifted off my shoulders, and it is though a huge burden has finally gone.

"I am happy for the victims, as hopefully they can now finally start to put their lives back together.

"If there are any other victims who have suffered this kind of abuse, I would urge them to come forward."
