BRADFORD residents have spoken out after taking part in a demonstration for energy and climate justice.
Members of Global Justice Bradford joined protesters from all over the UK to travel to London for the Time To Act climate march.
One of them, Jane Thewlis said: “Every day, more people are waking up to climate change. What scientists predicted decades ago is happening right now.
“This is a crucial year for the climate. In December, governments will come together in Paris to strike a new deal for the climate. We want the government to act on climate change.
“Bradford has taken some excellent steps forward to support renewable energy. It is the first council in the UK to sign up to schools ‘run on sun’ or solar power.
"The local authority will provide up to £1 million this year for schools to invest in energy efficiency and renewable technologyThis aims to make it easy for all schools to go solar. So far 700 schools have expressed interest.”
