BRADFORD Council has refused planning permission for a car park because it could harm trees on the site.
Yorkshire Clinic on Bradford Road, Cottingley, Bingley, had applied to extend its car park by 22 spaces, but yesterday that application was turned down by planning officers.
The clinic, on green belt land, said the parking was needed to cope with increasing demand, but planning officers pointed out that there were a number of protected trees on the site, and that the application did not contain enough detail about how these trees would be protected during the development. At least one tree protected by a tree preservation order would be felled if the application was approved.
