AN artist has taken inspiration from his beloved Bradford City for his latest collection of paintings.

Andrew Storrie has created a series of watercolour paintings inspired by the exploits of the claret and amber giantkillers for his 'City Gent Collection'.

The 54-year-old is a season ticket holder at Valley Parade and attends the matches with his father Alec Storrie and son James, 24.

The collection includes paintings called Off Ter Match, Midland Road and Everywhere We Go.

Take Me Home features a family in City scarves walking past the Bradford Arms and a traditional red phone box, which Mr Storrie uses in many of his paintings.

His fifth picture, which is linked to City's FA Cup run this season, is yet to be named.

Everywhere We Go has a fan jumping for joy and celebrating outside Valley Parade, with bottles of drink left on the pavement.

The paintings are also inspired by chants often sung from the seats at the Bantams' home ground.

They show crowd scenes and families of supporters, including fathers and sons, enjoying the games together.

Born in Middlesbrough, Mr Storrie moved to Bradford when he was five-years-old and started supporting City.

Mr Storrie, of Boynton near Bridlington, says the collection shows families enjoying matches together, which fans of all clubs can relate to.

He said: "The pictures are a celebration of the club and their cup run.

"It's my love of the club and football coming through.

"Bradford City is a mild obsession for me. It gets in your blood. I have been going since 1968.

"I'm just hoping the cup run can continue.

"I'm trying to encapsulate aspects of football and how exciting it is.

"I have taken inspiration from the family club that is Bradford City for my work.

"Going to the football is very family orientated.

"Football seems to fit in with the pictures. I'm just doing the finishing touches to my fifth picture of the collection.

"They are not all specific pictures of Bradford but have claret and amber colours in them.

"The obsession of football flows out of me into the pictures.

"People who like football can associate with the people in the paintings.

"I still go across from near Bridlington with my family for the matches."

Speaking on City's FA Cup exploits, Mr Storrie still thinks they can make it through to a Wembley semi-final after their goalless draw in the last eight on Saturday.

He added: "I went to the Reading game on Saturday and my voice is still recovering. I still think they can do it in the replay.
