TO MARK the Tour de Yorkshire cycle race being held in May, Keighley brewery Timothy Taylor is resurrecting the special Le Champion ale it produced to mark the Grand Depart.
The French-style blonde tipple, brewed from Alsace Strisselspalt hops and continental malts to give it a smooth body and delicate fragrance, proved a massive hit last year.
Timothy Taylor’s sales director, Grant Simpson, said: “We only planned to brew Le Champion as a one-off for the Tour de France, but it proved so popular we have been bombarded with requests to bring it back for 2015.
The Tour de Yorkshire tales place from May 1-3 with the route going through the Worth Valley on May 3.
