SEVERAL hundred mourners paid their respects to much-loved former Bulls stalwart Debbie Charlton at her funeral today.
Scores of Bradford legends past and present were in attendance to honour the memory of the 44-year-old, who was tragically killed in a car accident last month.
The funeral took place at the Grove Methodist Church, Town Street, Horsforth, in Leeds, which was packed for the lunchtime service.
Poems, eulogies, prayers were read out and rich tributes paid to Debbie by family members, former player Neil Harmon and Warren Evans, who serves as club pastor at the Bulls.
After the funeral, there was a commital at Rawdon Crematorium before a celebration of her life at Odsal Stadium later in the afternoon.
Jamie Peacock, Leon Pryce, Scott Naylor, Bernard Dwyer, Jamie Langley, Lee Gilmour, Paul Medley, Brian Noble and Francis Cummins were among the mourners.
Current Bulls coach Jimmy Lowes and management staff Robbie Hunter-Paul and Rob Parker were also present along with former long-serving chief executive Ryan Duckett.
Other prominent figures from the rugby league community such as Garry Schofield also attended along with many of Debbie’s family members, friends and former work colleagues.
Debbie was most recently working at FC Halifax Town as director of business development but spent around fifteen years at Odsal in commercial and marketing roles, where she gained a fine reputation for her meticulous work.
