YOUNGSTERS at a Bradford theatre school garnered an impressive collection of trophies at a drama festival.
The young performers, who attend singing, speech and drama lessons at Stage 84, took part in the Mrs Sunderland Festival in Huddersfield winning eight First Place awards, six Seconds and seven Third Places.
The triumphant youngsters were Felicity Binns, 17, Amelia Elgie, 14, Mabel Vincent, 10, Melina Shillito, nine, and Roma Christensen, also nine, and Ysanne Morrill, 17, (not pictured).
Next week another group of pupils who attend drama and singing classes at Stage 84 will take part in the Robertshaw Festival in Bingley. Last week, seven Stage 84 students attended a reception at City Hall with the Lord Mayor of Bradford, Councillor Mike Gibbons.
Auditions have been held for Stage 84’s forthcoming production of Oliver! running at Bingley Arts Centre from July 15-18 before a transfer to the Edinburgh Fringe Festival.
Later this year, students will be pulling on roller skates to present Andrew Lloyd Webber’s Starlight Express at Bingley Arts Centre, followed by a production of The Wizard of Oz at Beckfoot School.
