A NEW law clamping down on drug-driving will “save lives”, says a senior councillor.
Drivers face tough new penalties if they get behind a wheel after taking illegal drugs and some prescription medications.
Councillor Val Slater, Bradford Council’s executive member for transport (pictured), said: “This new legislation will make it easier to detect drug drivers, many of which are slipping through the net.
"It will also save lives, as anyone taking such risks behind the wheel is endangering themselves and others.”
There are limits for illegal and some legal drugs.
