BRADFORD’S wartime women will be celebrated at a free event to mark International Women’s Day.
On Monday, the Manningham Mills Community Association (MMCA) will host an event themed on Bradford women and their work at the time of the First World War.
There will be a performance of First World War songs, a display exploring women’s labour from 1870 to 1920, talks about pioneering Bradford women, an exercise class, jewellery making, food, raffle and stalls.
The event, from 11am to 3.30pm at the MMCA’s premises in Lilycroft Road, Bradford, will be opened by Cllr Naveeda Ikram (Lab, Little Horton). Women are invited to come in period costume.
