POLICE officers have lost 94 of their ‘airwave’ radios in three years – with 27 of them never being recovered, statistics from the West Yorkshire force show.
The period covers 2011-13.
Police said if a handset goes missing they can disable it as they are all password protected.
The most handsets were lost in 2012, with 39 unaccounted for – but the force say that is due to an internal audit when a change of supplier was taking place.
