AUDIENCES are invited aboard the SS American transatlantic liner for Cole Porter’s classic musical comedy, Anything Goes, at the Alhambra this week.
The UK tour of the show has sailed into Bradford, starring Hugh Sachs, best known as hapless Gavin in TV comedy Benidorm, and Jane Wymark, who played DCI Barnaby’s wife in long-running police drama Midsomer Murders.
The show, which features an eight-minute tap dancing routine, is set aboard a luxurious cruise liner filled with eccentric passengers.
When Billy Crocker discovers that his heart’s desire, debutante heiress Hope Harcourt, is engaged to an English aristocrat, he stows away aboard the SS American to win her back.
Can this web of love be untangled before the boat reaches Southampton?
l Anything Goes runs at the Alhambra until Saturday.
