A ‘FORTIFIED’ flat at the centre of a raid by drugs squad officers has been sealed up by social housing landlord Incommunities.
Two men, aged 37 and 36, and a 44-year-old woman, were arrested on suspicion of possession with intent to supply Class A drugs and possession of criminal property after officers used cutting equipment to force their way in to the property at Bolingbroke Court, Little Horton, Bradford.
Karen Lee, director of Incommunities’ neighbourhood services, said: “We are committed to working with the police and taking firm action against anyone using illegal drugs in our properties.
“We will continue to take the appropriate enforcement measures to protect the rights of our communities to live free from the scourge of illegal drugs.”
Inspector Tom Horner, of the Bradford West area neighbourhood policing team, said: “Police in Bradford are committed to tackling those who blight our communities through illegal drugs, and this operation clearly demonstrates that these people can’t hide – not even in fortified properties.
“It also shows that we will work with partners and use whatever legislation is available to close down properties suspected of being involved in the supply of drugs.
“We continue to urge the public for their help in tackling this issue and would ask anyone with any suspicions about illegal drug use to report them to the police by calling 101 or anonymously through Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.”
