A CAR was destroyed by fire in Wibsey today.
The driver of the Smart car pulled over after smoke started billowing from under the bonnet, and then noticed the fire. The fire service were called but a Fairweather Green fire station spokesman said the vehicle was "completely burnt out".
The blaze happened on Beacon Road at about 2.30pm. Police closed the road for about 30 minutes while firefighters tackled the flames.
