OLD and young Bradfordians joined forces to share tips on living a healthy lifestyle.
The intergenerational event was part of the We Love Eating campaign, a Europe-wide project to encourage healthy living through proper diet and regular exercise.
Held at Cafe West healthy living centre, in Allerton, the event brought together Dixons Green pathways students with the older people who attend the cafe regularly.
The group took part in a physical activity session using dance and exercise games on the XBOX connect, and then cooked low-fat banana blueberry muffins and fat-free hot chocolate.
At the end of the session, all participants sat down together and enjoyed the tasty healthy treats they had prepared.
Rebecca Scholes, healthy eating and nutrition coordinator at Cafe West, said: “Intergenerational activity is much more than older people and young people being active and cooking at the same time.“When people of diverse age groups are active together they share experiences, learn from and help each other and help one another. It can strengthen bonds between the generations in a number of ways.”
