POLICE have confirmed that a woman’s body found in Ilkley was that of missing Gita Williams.

The 45-year-old was found in a stream close to Parish Ghyll Drive at about 12.30pm.

There are not believed to be any suspicious circumstances surrounding the death.

A guinea pig she was believed to have taken with her when she disappeared was found dead near her body.

She had last been seen at her home in Ilkley at about 5.30pm last Saturday.

Police have thanked the public for their help with the appeal.
