NEW mums and mums-to-be across the Bradford area are being invited to join a series of focus groups to talk about their birth experiences.

The have-your-say sessions will be held at venues district-wide and are aimed at people who have used maternity services in either the past year or are using them now.

Feedback will be used to identify what the important issues are considered to be and to improve those services across Bradford, Airedale, Wharfedale and Craven.

Every year The Maternity Partnership, made up of members of the public as well as health professionals, run these focus groups to listen to peoples’ views and experiences – the sessions this year are all about understanding women’s birth experiences.

Dr Anne Connolly, the CCGs’ clinical lead for maternity services, said: “The aim of the focus groups is to hear from women and their families to help us improve the birthing experience of women through a better understanding of their needs so we can shape the offer of personalised care in Bradford.”
