YESTERDAY evening’s rush hour descended into gridlock on roads around Bradford city centre as snow caused disruption across the district.
A number of bus services were suspended, including the Bradford City circular service. Meanwhile, Transdev Keighley warned of major delays due to heavy congestion and weather conditions in Bradford.
Snowfall also prevented bus services 253 and 283 from reaching Bradford Interchange and East Bierley.
A motorist, who works in Bradford, said it had taken her more than an hour and a half to drive from the city centre to her home in Birkenshaw.
She said: “I’ve worked in Bradford many years and this is the most extreme I’ve ever seen it.”
“I got in my car at 4.20pm in the NCP car park on Hall Ings and it took 20 minutes to get out of the car park and poke my nose onto Hall Ings.”
Further disruption was expected during this morning’s rush hour.
