RELATIVES of a six-year-old girl who died after being hit by a car wept in court as the woman accused of causing the youngster’s death denied it.
Joanne Rothery, 33, pleaded not guilty to causing the death of Lily Davis by careless driving at Bradford and Keighley Magistrates’ Court yesterday.
The charge related to a collision on Beacon Road, Buttershaw, Bradford, involving Lily and a Land Rover Freelander, on June 12 last year.
Lily (pictured) sustained serious head injuries and was taken to Leeds General Infirmary by air ambulance, where she died.
Rothery, of Beldon Lane, Buttershaw, was released on bail to appear at Bradford Crown Court on February 10.
