A KEIGHLEY master baker is to stage a live bake-off masterclass to raise cash for Airedale Hospital’s Emergency Department appeal.
Mike Armstrong will present a baking demonstration and offer people a chance to taste his award-winning breads at the event on Mother’s Day, March 15, between 2.30pm and 5.30pm at Laycock Village Hall.
Meg Crossley, consultant in emergency medicine at Airedale, said: “We are really looking forward to the event as The money we raise will go towards our £100,000 appeal target to help fund state-of-the-art equipment to improve care for thousands of local people.
“We’ve raised around £40,000 so far, which is a fantastic achievement but just because the new unit is now open doesn’t mean we have stopped fundraising.”
Tickets for the event cost £10 and include a free gift. They are available by contacting Jodie Hearnshaw, charity fundraiser at Airedale on 01535 294870 or jodie.hearnshaw@anhst.nhs.uk.
Attendees will have the opportunity to bake and decorate six of their finest cupcakes to the theme of their choice. These will be auctioned off at the end of the event.
