A GARDENER has been jailed for ten months after he was filmed stamping on an unconscious man after trouble spilled out of a Bradford nightclub.
Daanyaal Nawaz, 21, of Rooley Lane, Bankfoot, Bradford, became involved after fighting in the Sackville Club moved on to Upper Mill Gate at 6.30am on September 21, 2013, Bradford Crown Court heard yesterday. Nawaz pleaded guilty to affray and possession of cocaine.
He was arrested after failing to attend court last July when a co-accused was locked up for eight months.
The court was told that Nawaz stamped once on an unconscious man lying on the pavement after the victim was attacked by others in the group.
Nawaz had been remanded in custody since November and he was training to be a mentor while in Leeds Prison.
His barrister, Katherine Robinson, said he joined in briefly partway through the disturbance.
