ENTERPRISING parents at Thornbury Primary School have raised more than £1,400 by selling snacks to pupils at their weekly food sale.
The parents, who are members of the Friends of Thornbury Primary School, have been carrying out the Friday Crust fundraiser for almost a year.
They make £60 per week for the school coffers selling 280 slices of toast and about 220 cartons of juice to the children.
The parents prepare the snacks and then wheel them out into the playground at the Dick Lane school for the children’s break times.
Clare Daddy, head teacher, said: “The children love the Friday Crust.
“They have held other successful fund-raising events and their efforts are really appreciated.”
Other fundraisers from the group included a ladies night event and selling arts and crafts kits to parents and pupils to boost the funds.
