THERE was fuel for thought at a coffee morning drop-in at Idle Baptist Church, Bradford, which helps people to be more energy efficient.
David D’Arcy, access and partnerships development lead at Shipley-based Carers’ Resource and the Reverend Maggie Rich, of Idle Baptist Church, were giving out information about First4Contact - a service which helps people manage their fuel bills and to stay warm and well in winter.
The service also gives out details how to get energy-efficiency checks and home fire-safety checks carried out and get access to fuel-debt advice.
Referrals were taken during the drop-in session for First4Contact as a number of people turned up to get help with their energy bills after reading about the session in the Telegraph & Argus, said a Carers’ Resource spokesman.
Coffee drop-ins will now be a regular event every other Tuesday at the church, the next one will be on Tuesday, February 3, with a representative of Carers’ Resource.
