A LITTER collection gathered bags of rubbish within 100 yards of St Edmund’s Children’s Centre in Girlington, Bradford.
The litter pick-up was part of a Keep Girlington Tidy Campaign and involved children, staff and parents from the centre and the nursery school in Washington Street.
Bradford Council’s neighbourhood support services and CNet’s community worker Muppett were also involved in the event which was organised as a result of concerns about rubbish in the streets in the area.
Muppett said: “The young ones learned about keeping their streets clean and looking after their environment so that was good.
“There were about 15 of us who turned up and we collected about six bags of rubbish within just 100 yards from the school so we really made a difference.”
