AN INSPECTOR has dismissed a householder’s bid to stop Bradford Council taking enforcement action over his unauthorised extension.
M Choudhry had built a two-storey extension to 387 Little Horton Lane without the correct planning permission and last year the council issued an enforcement notice telling him the extension had to be demolished within one month.
He began appeal proceedings in which he said more time was needed to apply for retrospective permission.
However, planning inspector Stephen Fisher dismissed the appeal and pointed out that no new application had been submitted.
Mr Fisher stated: “I appreciate the appellant’s desire for more time to comply with the notice. However, this has to be weighed against the stated harm to the surrounding area caused by the unauthorised use, which has persisted for some time.”
