THE Princess Royal is in Bradford today visiting a host of organisations and companies across the district.
This morning, she met graduates from Project SEARCH at Bradford Royal Infirmary, helping to celebrate an employment scheme which has helped give young people with learning disabilities the opportunities to learn the necessary skills and experience to gain future employment.
One of those to have benefited, Donata Andrasz, 21, gave a presentation on the effectiveness of the scheme, before the Princess Royal spoke about the importance of such projects.
The Royal party then headed to the Aire Valley this afternoon, travelling to CMB Engineering for a tour of its facility in Shipley.
She was greeted by the Lord Mayor and Lady Mayoress, Mike Gibbons and Elizabeth Sharp, and management of the firm.
She was given a warm welcome by staff, who viewed her arrival from an upstairs window at the premises.
The Princess Royal also gave a short presentation to celebrate the firm's receipt of the Queen’s Award for International Trade in 2014.
Acting in her role as president of Carers Trust, she is also due to visit The Carers’ Resource, also based in Shipley, later this afternoon.
She will see the wide range of services on offer to carers and older people across the district.
The Princess Royal last visited the district in January last year, enjoying tours of Saltaire Brewery and Manor Coating Systems Ltd.
