BRADFORD Council has seen the light over its controversial siting of a Steeton street lamp.
Workmen have changed the site of the lamppost in Skipton Road, near the junction with Thornhill Road, following complaints from local councillors.
The original post was recently positioned near the middle of the pavement instead of up against the wall.
Council bosses initially said this was the only place the light could go due to the number of gas, electricity and water pipes running under the pavement.
Then last week council workers placed a second lamppost in the position preferred by councillors, and promised to remove the original post.
District councillor Chris Atkinson and Steeton-with-Eastburn Parish Council chairman David Mullen had both called for the change of position.
Councillor Atkinson said: “We are glad they did this.”
