A CHARITY which has been treating underprivileged children in Bradford for 125 years has been congratulated with a civic reception.
The Bradford Cinderella Club was formed in January 1890 and has been helping poorer children enjoy treats such as trips to the pantomime, Easter eggs and seaside holidays ever since.
The charity’s ongoing dedication to brightening children’s lives was marked with a reception hosted by the Lord Mayor of Bradford at City Hall’s Banqueting Suite.
He said: "I was delighted to host the reception for the Bradford Cinderella Club's 125th anniversary. The club does a fantastic job for children across the district.
"There has long been a need to look after children and to help provide them with the occasional treat or comfort.
"This is something the club have done over many generations and we give them our gratitude."
The Club’s annual public meeting will be held on February, 13 at Glyde House, Bradford, and new volunteers are always welcome.
