BRADFORD Council’s decision to refuse the conversion of a Bingley house into a childminding business has been upheld by the Government.
Steven Robson’s application to convert 39 Southway in Eldwick into a business that would care for up to 12 under eights was refused in September due to concerns of the impact to neighbours, due to noise and traffic.
He appealed the decision, and a Government planning inspector has dismissed the appeal.
They said: “Although children in these areas are supervised it is natural for them to play in an exuberant manner, and such lively activity would be difficult for staff to control. The noise generated for over six hours each day would be likely to disturb neighbouring occupiers.
“Vehicles associated with the business would add to the harm.
