BRADFORD film-maker Steve Call will be back in his home city this spring to shoot his new movie.
The 48-year-old from Wrose had already landed a major distribution deal with an Arizona-based company for his first action comedy A Total Thug Up, also filmed in and around Bradford, and now he is ready for more lights, camera, action.
A DVD of A Total Thug Up will be out soon across the UK, the US and Canada, making way for filming schedules to start in May on his next film - Tears in the Dust.
It tells the tale of Trevor Wallis, who is a very successful salesman happily working for a software company until he finds out his main boss has been cheating the company and business partner out of millions.
Mr Call said: "The company is closing and the boss has gone missing. Trevor is owed hundreds of thousands of pounds in wages and he looses the plot totally. Things don't turn out too good. He has lost his job, his wife and now his dignity. He's down and out on the streets constantly drunk and things get worse."
The cast includes actor Terry Dalloway, who was recently on Emmerdale as a social worker and others who have been in previous British independent films and some new faces too.
Mr Call said: "Bradford is so ideal for a movie shoot because of it's diversity with lots of locations from parks to old derelict buildings. It's a movie makers dream, not forgetting that Bradford is a UNISECO City of Film, which we support that fully and are proud of. I will always try to make films in Bradford."
Tears in the Dust is being self financed and should be released on DVD in time for Christmas next year.
"We have a few options regarding distribution but don't really want to say at this stage," added Mr Call.
Mr Call turned to film-making in 2008 after he had to give up his job as an electrician when his skin became so sore from an autoimmune disorder. It was while he was recovering in hospital that he taught himself to use a camera and edit software.
He said: "I could not just sit around doing nothing, so I followed my dream. I looked on free websites and Youtube to find out how to make films and just practised by making short films and music videos for friends after I came out of hospital.”
His dreams of making his own film started to become a reality in 2011 when he met a friend Terry Turner in a pub and the pair came up with the idea for A Total Thug Up - the movie was financed by their families.
Director of Bradford City of Film, David Wilson said: "We'd be happy to help or advise Mr Call if he needs anything for his next shoot. We're here to help."
He described Bradford as a "ready-made filmset" due to its rich Victorian architecture and the natural bowl that surrounds it - a perfect combination of "hills and mills."
