CHILDREN can try to create the perfect portrait at art sessions in Gomersal.
Artist Richard Lucas will show youngsters how to get the right shape for the face and how to position the eyes, nose and mouth as well as demonstrate different techniques, such as shading and blending, to help them create their own masterpiece.
Two sessions, entitled Pastel Portraits for Kids, are taking place at the Red House on February 18 for children aged over eight years. One is between 10am and noon, the other is from 1pm to 3pm. Each session costs £3.50 per child.
As well as pastels, the young artists will be able to work in pen, pencil and charcoal. All materials will be provided. Youngsters can bring their own photographs to work from but there will also be a selection of pictures of well-known faces on which to base the portraits.
To book a place ring Red House on 01274 335100.
