A PROPOSED car wash on the site of a former pub in Undercliffe has been refused planning permission by Bradford Council over road safety concerns.
Shokhulah Mashmoni had applied for temporary permission to turn part of the site of the Hare and Hounds in Idle Road into a hand car wash.
The pub has been converted into a shop and associated car park. Planners have said the business would cause disturbance to neighbours as well as intensifying the use of the site’s “sub standard access,” which would cause traffic issues.
They also point out that the car park that made up part of the pub conversion application has been altered without permission. The report says: “The on-site situation differs from the approved plans, the approved parking area has already been divided for use by the existing retail element and the car wash.”
