POLICE are hunting a van used in the theft of a motorbike from a driveway.

The incident, which happened at Hightown, Liversedge, was filmed by CCTV and show a Triumph Trophy motorbike being put in the van through a side door.

However, as the van was driven off the motorbike fell out and the damaged machine was then abandoned.

The incident happened on the evening of December 28 and police are now trying to trace the van.

PC Chris Birkenshaw, of Batley and Spen Neighbourhood Policing Team, said: “The van used in this incident was quite distinctive with writing on the side panel which we believe reads ‘M Tomlinson’. The motorcycle was damaged but has been returned to its owner.

“We would urge anyone with information about this theft or the van involved to contact the policing team on 101.”
