THE body of a man in his 40s has been found in a field in Silsden this morning.
Police and paramedics were called to the land, near Bridge Farm off Keighley Road, at 6.50am.
The area, near the River Aire, has been cordoned off while officers investigate.
Detective Chief Inspector Steve Snow said: "There are not thought to be any suspicious circumstances, and inquiries are continuing."
Silsden resident Ken Henderson saw the heavy police presence as he travelled to Steeton and Silsden rail station, near to the site the body was found. He said: "It is just off the roundabout. I saw police cars and ambulances, and they were looking round the area between the river and the bypass. The police had the area taped off. It is not something you see every day in Silsden."
