A BARONESS has visited a Bradford nursery which opened in an old nursing home.
Baroness Kath Pinnock of Cleckheaton dropped into Woodlands Nursery and Pre-School in Apperley Bridge, Bradford.
The nursery opened in May last year following the £350,000 renovation of the former Knoll Nursing home site, which had become a magnet for arsonists. The nursery created 30 new jobs and has capacity for 80 children up to the age of five, as well as a school holiday club for children aged between four and eight.
Joining Baroness Pinnock on the trip were her Liberal Democrat colleagues, Bradford East MP David Ward and Councillor Jeanette Sunderland, leader of the Liberal Democrat group on Bradford Council.
Baroness Pinnock, a councillor on Kirklees Council, said: “With facilities like Woodlands and extra funding , it’s great to see Liberal Democrat policies making a difference.”
