A BINGLEY school has won a national gold award for its work with parents.
Bingley Grammar School was awarded it by the Secondary Schools Academies Trust (SSAT) following an inspection which found the culture and climate to be ‘warm, welcoming and professional.’ The report said parental engagement had helped to reduce exclusions and bad behaviour and parents also “articulated their increased confidence in the school as a listening organisation”.
Head teacher Luke Weston said: “We are very pleased to receive this award and would like to thank all those parents who gave us valuable feedback and ideas.”
The report said: “The school has created a huge capacity for further professional engagement in the future. This has been done through ethos, infrastructure and staffing. The ethos is one of true partnership.”
