YORKSHIRE Water chief executive Richard Flint has joined business leaders from around the country on a taskforce looking to tackle water issues in the UK.
Business in the Community (BITC) has united water companies, large businesses and key stakeholders to build a fairer society and more sustainable future.
The group’s report, ‘Securing the Resources for Future Prosperity’, highlights the water challenges facing the UK, reasons why businesses should take action and what they need to do.
The BITC Water Taskforce, made up of organisations including Sainsbury’s and the Met Office, and backed by the Government, is calling on all UK firms to consider their relationship with water.
Mr Flint (pictured) said: “Water resilience and the security of our resources is too big an issue for any one business to deal with on its own. It’s vitally important that business leaders join with the Government to consider how we can act now.”
