A COMMUNITY Payback team has been clearing litter around Manningham Library car park and nearby streets after calls from the area’s ward officer.
Mahmood Mohammed contacted Manningham Mills Community Association, which holds a contract with the Probation Service, to ask for one of the teams of offenders to help clear the area of rubbish.
The hope is that teams will regularly litter-pick to keep the area tidy.
Ashley Holdsworth, of Manningham Mills Community Association, said: “This contract is to support community facilities. My aim is for this scheme to benefit the residents of Manningham as widely as possible.
“We’ll try to help at the library and surrounding streets on a regular basis.”
The clean-up received support from Bradford Council’s Clean Team, Carlisle Business Centre, Manningham Library and Manningham Mills Community Association.
